Winter Break
Winter Break is always a welcome period during the higher ed schedule because it gives students, faculty, and staff a chance to breathe from the rush of fall semester. Being on the staff side of things for the first fall after receiving my Masters, the nine days with no students was not as light as one would believe. So the break was a welcome opportunity to step away from the office and rejuvenate.
So with Christmas (and the family Christmas dinner) already checked off my to-do list, there isn't much left to achieve for the break.
Otherwise, there's football (college, NFL, & fantasy) to keep my attention and there's been some interesting television (e.g., AMC's Intervention) as well.

- Last Thursday, I checked out Count of Monte Cristo to read over the break, in an effort not to will my TV to produce good programming. I just read the first few pages today, so I still have tons more to read.
- The Chick-Fil-A Bowl is coming up, and I hope my 'Noles produce a very good showing in Atlanta. I'd love an ACC over SEC win ;-).
- Lastly, there's New Years. With friends possibly in town on New Years Eve, hopefully we'll have some fun in bringing in 2011.
